Design for SEPHORA's AAPI Month Social Campaign
WHAT WE ACHIEVED: The aim was to create a month-long campaign for AAPI Month, recognizing and amplifying the AAPI community across social media. Our goal was to develop AAPI-focused visual designs for various social assets, ensuring consistency to highlight this important cultural moment.
HOW WE DID IT:
Research & Inspiration: I led the project from start to finish, conducting extensive research on the region and cultures. Taking inspiration from recognizable elements of Asian, American, and Pacific Islander communities, I incorporated flowers and fruits native to these regions—such as hibiscus, plumeria, lotus, grapefruit, mangosteen, and dragonfruit—into the designs. Design & Implementation: I illustrated these elements and designed logo lockups, bugs, containers, and end cards for social videos. Collaboration: I managed animators and designers to ensure consistent visual implementation across all platforms.
MY ROLE: As the art director, I spearheaded the project from research and illustration to design and implementation. I ensured that all visual elements resonated with the cultural identities of the AAPI community and maintained visual consistency across various social media formats.
